But in an hour (Bologna time), its my God mother’s birthday. And while I’m hard at work (read: just got out of a hot tub and will quickly head to the terrace for cards and drinks), I would like any reader of my blog to pause briefly and acknowledge one of my favorite people. Aunt Jeanne has a fantastic habit of texting me at the very moment I’m freaking out with a message like, “hey dan, just remember that its all worth it”. Somehow, she inherently knows exactly what I want to hear at the exact moment I need to hear it. And while I’m quite a ways away, and haven’t seen her in some time now. I want to wish my Aunt Jeanne, my godmother, my sympathizer a fantastic birthday. Thank you for everything.

Bon Journo Dan………… Wow an international birthday wish,.. How lucky am I …??? We all missed you around the pool yesterday as we drank Mojito’s and fake italien take out…:) But, I know your adventure is a once in a lifetime chance….. enjoy it … and know that every experience will help form you… I love you and know you’ll be the best at whatever it is you want to do down the road..
